Drake; or, the Transfer of the Trident

In this play the dramatist, William MacOubrey, has tried to give a true historical account of what actually happened between Elizabeth 1, King Phillip of Spain, and Sir Francis Drake. In a lengthy preface, he argues that there are many misconceptions about this period in history, and his aim was solely to set the story straight and pay due homage to Drake and Elizabeth I.
