Robert Fulton and the Submarine

This book is a collection of Robert Fulton's submarine design and research plans, notes, and previously unpublished manuscripts. Fulton is an American engineer and inventor who is widely credited with developing the world's first commercially successful steamboat, the North River Steamboat (also known as Clermont). The success of his steamboat changed river traffic and trade on major American rivers. The submarine design that is featured in this book was commissioned by none other than Napoleon Bonaparte.
