Dixie Hart

"Dixie Hart" is a romantic tale set in the village of Chester. Alfred Henley and his former friend turned foe, Dick Wrinkle, had both pursued the same lady, Hettie, and eventually she had chosen Dick who had married her. But then Dick left her to go off to the West, not even bothering to write to her. And when news came of his death, Alfred finally had his chance to get the woman, greatly moved by her sense of grief. But his joy was short-lived when it finally dawned on him the life he had chosen in marrying Hettie, and he began to regret his choice. He soon notices his lovely new neighbor, Miss Dixie Hart, and starts a conversation with her…
