The following book is a novel by Wilhelmine von Hillern, and is divided into two parts: Book I, entitled 'Under A Curse' and Book II, entitled 'Martyrdom'. Hillern was a German actress and novelist. One of her works was adapted by the Italian composer Alfredo Catalani into 'La Wally,' which was his last and most successful opera.
