The House of Spies

This book tells the story of Anthony Durrell. Durrell is a man with a colorful past who lives with his daughter Nancy in an old Stonehanger House. A ring of French spies established the spy web in England on the eve of the Napoleonic Wars, and no one could be trusted. The sudden appearance of an injured stranger, Jasper Benham, causes angst and disorder at the old Stonehanger one evening, revealing some things from old Durrell's past. The tense situation causes everyone to doubt everything, prompting the spy games to begin.
