It is inspired by his experience trekking the Going-to-the-Sun Mountain, a 9,647-foot mountain peak located in Glacier National Park in the U.S. state of Montana. Several of the works featured include The Fairy Circus, The Battle-Ax of the Sun, and the Pheasant Speaks of His Birthday.
