Дорогой читатель! Приветствую тебя на страницах этой книги!

Для начала позволь поделиться с тобой историей ее рождения. А появилась она благодаря знаменитому детскому писателю Корнею Ивановичу Чуковскому и его книге «Серебряный герб». Я прочла её своим детям ещё в 2020 году и с тех пор «вынашивала» идею возрождения метода Оллендорфа.

В книге Чуковского главный герой изучал английский язык по методу Мейендорфа и в деталях описывал его. Мне, как лингвисту, стало любопытно, что же это за метод и я решила узнать о нем больше. Поискала в интернете и нашла информацию, но не по Мейендорфу, а Оллендорфу. Оказалось, книга была биографична. Под главным героем можно было узнать самого Чуковского и метод, по которому он когда-то выучил английский язык. Это метод Оллендорфа второй половины 19 века. Метод довольно забавный, упражнения в котором состоят из нелепых и нелогичных предложений. Но мозг так устроен, что запоминает странную, нелогичную, интересную и смешную информацию гораздо легче, чем серьезную и нужную. Причем остается такая информация в памяти надолго.

Узнав об этом методе, я захотела его воскресить, так как уверена, что данный метод-самоучитель является очень эффективным способом овладеть любым иностранным языком. Без зубрежки грамматики, а так, как любой ребенок учит свой родной язык: со слов, фраз, и предложений.

Я адаптировала старый стиль языка к сегодняшним реалиям, убрала некоторые устаревшие слова и грамматические конструкции, которые больше не используются в повседневной жизни. Тем не менее, в книге сохранился «вкус» того времени. Когда я ее писала и переводила, я чувствовала то время, в котором жил автор. Думаю, и ты, мой читатель, сможешь прочувствовать атмосферу тех времен.

Как пользоваться учебником?

В книге 56 уроков и столько же упражнений. Уроки начинаются словами и заканчиваются фразами. Вопросы идут последовательно и каждый урок связан с предыдущим. Фразы представлены в троякой форме: вопросительной, отрицательной и утвердительной, так что самообучающийся постоянно возвращается к исходному правилу, усваивая и новые слова и новые грамматические конструкции. Ты можешь выбрать свою скорость освоения материала. Но не растягивай один урок + упражнения дольше, чем на неделю. Таким образом максимальный срок усвоения всех уроков и упражнений займет 56 недель. То есть в течении года ты сможешь заговорить на английском.

Я рекомендую также самостоятельно составлять подобные предложения по темам уроков. Старайся придумывать как можно более нелепые, несвязные и глупые предложения. Так информация будет легче усваиваться. Повторяй предложения в течение дня каждую свободную минуту. Так ты отработаешь их до автоматизма. Мозг запомнит и сами слова и грамматическую последовательность их употребления.

Произношение проверяй с помощью онлайн словарей. В разных англоязычных странах свой диалект, соответственно, и произношение некоторых слов будет разным. Также, я озвучиваю каждый урок и сохраняю на своей странице в Instagram (canada_learn_english).

Не бойся ошибок, не сдавайся, и совсем скоро ты заговоришь на английском языке, как на родном!

В 10-ом уроке ты познакомишься с устаревшим местоимением второго лица единственного числа и некоторыми глаголами, которые давно не используются в современном английском языке. Я могла бы исключить этот урок или, по крайней мере, слова, но решила оставить, так как читая произведения Шекспира, например, ты всё ещё можешь встретить данные слова. Итак, слово «thou» исторически использовалось в английском языке как форма единственного числа «you» для обращения к одному человеку. Оно использовалось с такими глаголами, как «hast» (что означает «иметь»), для образования второго лица единственного числа настоящего времени. В современном английском языке «thou» было упразднено и заменено на «you» как для единственного, так и для множественного числа. Использование местоимения «thou» сократилось по мере того, как английское общество становилось всё более формальным, и различие между фамильярными и формальными формами обращения уменьшалось. Это привело к широкому использованию местоимения «you» как в единственном, так и во множественном числе.
