Foreword

One day, a giraffe

was quietly eating

when a mosquito arrived

and immediately said.

― Do you like that food?

― Yes ― she replied.

― What does it taste like this time?

― The mosquito asked.

― Delicious ― the giraffe

told the mosquito.

― But what does it taste like? ― He asked

and he seemed to be curious.

She thinks about it a little bit

and then she replied

― It tastes like grass

― and then she shut up.

1. THE GIRAFFE AND THE MOSQUITO

One day, a giraffe

was quietly eating

when a mosquito arrived

and immediately said.

― Do you like that food?

― Yes ― she replied.

― What does it taste like this time?

― The mosquito asked.

― Delicious ― the giraffe

told the mosquito.

― But what does it taste like? ― He asked

and he seemed to be curious.

She thinks about it a little bit

and then she replied

― It tastes like grass

― and then she shut up.

― But the grass doesn’t have flavor

because I have eaten it

and I can assure you

it’s not a good bite.

She stares at him

and she asked

― Have you eaten grass?

“I don’t think so.

― Yes! ― he is saying to her ―,

I ate it one day.

― No! ― She answers

because she didn’t believe it.

― Yes! ― No! Both of them said

and they were talking for a while

when a cat approached

that was heard from afar.

― Let’s see, tell me

why I see you arguing

What does it matter if you like it?

that’s good for you.

The giraffe was looking at him

and she did not understand very well.

― Why does the cat say that?

― And so she would ask.

― Come on, tell me something

Why do you express yourself like that?

― But she looks at the mosquito

and says again.

― The grass is very good

and I can assure you

that you haven’t eaten

the food you can find here.

The cat when answering

gave her this explanation

― Giraffe, which is better?

he eats a lot.

»If he likes the way you do

the grass of this place

will leave you without it

and you will have to leave.

She was thoughtful

because she hadn’t thought about it

and says to the mosquito

― It is true that you have tried it.

» And I think it’s bitter

that’s why you didn’t like it

better get more delicious food

that´s what I think.

The mosquito has heard her

and he answered

― I am going to look for food

I will come here another day.

And he flew away

he did not like the grass

and the cat says

to the amazed giraffe.

― Do you see how easy it has been?

that’s why he flew away

the grass has not been eaten

and you have more grass to eat.

The giraffe has understood

that he was right

she thanked the cat

and kept on eating

And the mosquito

flew away from there

he will surely come back

when he has thought about it.

2. THE JUMPING ELEPHANT

An elephant was seen

jumping in a park

he saw a turtle there

that quickly approached him.

― Hello, pretty turtle

― the elephant said.

She was asleep

and she didn´t answer anything.

Again he greeted her

and he missed her so much

he saw her so still

and she has not replied.

― Turtle, did you hear me?

― the elephant said.

So loud was the sound

that I could no longer sleep.

― Yes, I heard you

― the turtle said.

― Why didn’t you answer?

― Because I was sleeping.

And talking for a while

the two of them have been there

then a cat arrived

and quickly asked.

― Elephant, would you like

to help me?

― And me? ―the other animal asked.

― No ― he answered.

― Why do you help him and not me?

― the turtle told him.

― Because you are very calm

and I would arrive late.

And the angry turtle

has fallen asleep

the cat and the elephant

left quickly.

A bird that was

on a branch

has started to sing

tucked into its nest.

The turtle listened to it

and immediately asked

― Why do you sing little bird?

Then, he answered.

― As I have seen you alone

and you seemed to be sad

what I intended was

to make you happy with my song.

The little turtle looked at him

and thanked him

then she gets into her little house

where she keeps resting

And so the two friends

there they are together

the turtle has fallen asleep

and the bird will shut up.
