Uppingham by the Sea

This is the remarkable true story of an event at Uppingham School, a famous private school founded in the

16th century in Oakham in Rutland, England. In the 1870's several boys at the famous boarding

school were taken ill and some died. The school was temporarily closed but on re-opening the same

illness recurred. A brave decision was made to move the school to Borth on the coast of West Wales.

This is the story of an eventful and memorable year.
