Captain Cook's Journal During His First Voyage Round the World

James Cook was a British explorer, navigator, cartographer, and captain in the British Royal Navy, most famous for discovering Australia and New Zealand. He made three voyages between 1768 and 1779 in the Pacific Ocean and Australia. In the journal of his first voyage, presented here, Captain James Cook describes his route from England to South Africa and then his discovery of New Zealand, the trip around New Zealand, and the discovery of the eastern coast of Australia.
