Joshua is a fictionalized narrative of the life of Hosea/Joshua based on the biblical account of Moses and the Pharaoh of the Exodus. The author of this work Georg Moritz Ebers (1837 – 1898), was a German Egyptologist and novelist. He is famous for his purchase of the Ebers Papyrus, one of the most ancient Egyptian medical documents globally. With the help of the mental and external experiences of the characters, whose acts Ebers has freely guided through his imagination, he has attempted to bring closer to the reader the human side of the fate of the nation, which was necessary for him to describe.
