Fred and Terry lived in a town called Greville. While they were out looking for a missing cow, they were sure to find it because of the bell it wore around its neck, they took no weapons deciding they probably would not need them, the bell was ringing but it was an Nativa American making the noise trying to lure them to a trap, at the last moment Deerfoot a friendly Native American saves them but lets the other go after taking his gun and giving it to one of the boys. The boys, getting a thirst for adventure, find themselves on a quest unlike any they'd ever anticipated.
