'Over the Ocean; or, Sights and Scenes in Foreign Lands' is the travel memoir of author and journalist Curtis Guild about a tour he made of Europe in the 1870s. Its original form was in a series of sketches in the columns of the Boston Commercial Bulletin, of which he was Editor. In these the writer attempted to give a vivid image of the sights and scenes which he witnessed as could be conveyed to those who had never visited Europe.
