This is a crime mystery novel that revolves around the murder of Jesse Trasmere. Jesse Trasmere is a miser who does not trust banks and thus keeps his money at home, locked in a vault. Rex Lander, his nephew, received an allowance from his uncle, which he considers insufficient to support his opulent lifestyle.
